Community Ambassador – Calderdale
Hours: 18.75 hours per week. Salary: £24,800 Full Time Equivalent
Location: Holmfield Mills, Holdsworth Road, Halifax HX3 6SN.
This role is for a person with lived experience of disability.
This post will support community development and is aimed at helping communities to bring about social change and to be welcoming, inclusive places which will improve the quality of life for people with disabilities in the local area. This role will work with individuals with disabilities, families and whole communities to help empower them. You will be required to work flexibly throughout North Calderdale and at other Cloverleaf locations as required but prior notice will be given.
Evening and weekends may be required to fit the needs of the project.
The role will involve building on prior work by reaching out, establishing and sustaining dialogue with people living in the North Halifax area and empowering them to identify their assets, needs, opportunities, rights and responsibilities.
The project will help ensure that local people have their say on matters that impact in North Halifax. The role will also help identify and plan what people want to achieve and help them take appropriate action, whilst supporting individuals to build a stronger voice and networking opportunities for people to improve their wellbeing.
