We recently partnered with Yorkshire Smokefree to develop a stop smoking awareness campaign tailored for people with learning disabilities. This initiative included co-producing a short film, creating pocket-sized information cards, and delivering workshops in various locations to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking.
Yorkshire Smokefree is a service that offers support and advice to anyone looking to quit smoking across Barnsley, Calderdale, Doncaster, Sheffield, and Wakefield. They provide both telephone and in-person support, including help finding clinics, developing smokefree action plans, and accessing stop smoking aids.
As part of our collaboration, we co-produced two films featuring our very own Roy! The film shares Roy’s story—how he, as a person with a learning disability, successfully quit smoking with support from Yorkshire Smokefree. The video also includes expert commentary to provide additional insight.

As well as creating two short films, we have also put together a pocket-sized guide with facts about smoking and ways to stop.
