About our new project
Cloverleaf Advocacy have been given
some money from the National
Lottery Community Fund.
This money is to run our Happy
Healthy Relationships project for the
next 3 years.
This project will run across Kirklees,
Calderdale and Barnsley
About Happy Healthy
Relationships
Kirklees Involvement Network ran
small Happy Healthy Relationships
courses in Kirklees and Calderdale.
Calderdale Self Advocacy Network
have also done lots of training around
healthy relationships.

This training was written and
delivered by local people with a
learning disability.
We delivered training to people with a
learning disability, we looked at things
like:
• how to meet people, dating and
meeting people online
• staying safe in relationships and
the law
• what healthy and unhealthy

We also ran courses for families and
carers. This helped them to support
with a learning disability to have
relationships.
We held workshops and training for
staff and community groups who
work with people with a learning
disability.
After this work finished our self
advocates wrote a report about what
happened in the project.
People told us they wanted proper
courses to learn more about Healthy
Relationships.

Happy Healthy
Relationships 2024
We will run a 12 week courses for
local people with a learning disability.
They will learn lots of different things
about relationships and how to stay
safe.
Suzi our Big Boss Says’
“This is an amazing project that has
been several years in the making. We
are thrilled to have been awarded
funding from National Lottery to help
us take Happy, Healthy, Relationships,
to the next level. Our new course will
start in the middle of 2024. This
course build on the work we have
already done.

David Self Advocate from
Kirklees Involvement Network
said:
“Since we started our pilot project
four years ago, we have worked hard
to get a proper support for local
people with a learning disability
around sex and relationships.”
These courses will help keep people
safe; they will understand how to
have safe relationships and keep safe
online. The courses will give people
lots of time to think about what they
want out of relationships and get the
right support."
“It will give people with a learning
disabilities the skills they need to stay
safe and have long lasting
relationships”
